NPHS Mock Trial is a competitive club that meets in Ms. O’Neill's room, C-5, Monday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45 and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00. Meeting dates vary to accommodate school holidays. The trial is a hypothetical criminal case. Class includes learning about the judicial system, constitutional law, studying the case and applying knowledge and skill to representing the defendant or the People.
Teams scrimmage other schools on weekends and some evenings and participate in out-of-town tournaments.
Interested students can learn more by attending meetings and preparing to try out for roles.
As Mock Trial participants, students have the opportunity to choose from several different roles in a trial setting. Read more about each position here!
